Deliverables

updated: November 22

After October 13, the assignments due for the first gateway are going to get marked late, and after November 22, the assignments due for the second gateway are going to get marked late. Enough of them will lower your final course grade. Everthing on the server is automatically dated, so there shouldn't be any ambiguity about whether or not an assignment is late.

For explanation of marks, see notes below.

notes:

I may have seen your work in class, but the table above says whether it's in your lastname folder on the server, or linked to the welcome page (index.html) in your lastname folder.

The row headed "index.html" is what you see when you click on your name on the gateway page. y = it has links to all of your assignments

The row head "server", indicates whether you need to clean up your lastname folder on the server. x = needs a lot of work; / = almost tidy, but not quite. y = completely tidy aka professional, not close to it. The y does not indicate that you have everything that needs to be there. It refers only to what is there. Thus, a y can turn into a / if you add more files, but they have problems. The x can mean that there is nothing in your lastname folder on the server, but it usually means:

bulletyou have unnecessarily FTP'd your KompoZer and FileZilla software, or you have duplicate folders. It can also mean that another student has inadvertently FTP'd his or her folder into yours. In every case, delete what doesn't belong.

bulletyou have folder and file names with caps and spaces. The file path in the HTML must match what's on the server. Your best bet is to rename the folders and files on your computer, edit the HTML files on your computer, and then re-FTP every file that you have changed. Don't forget to clean up files that aren't being used. Learn more about file naming conventions.

The marks under your initials indicate whether you completed the document (y), handed it in incomplete or unfinished (/), handed it in late (*) or not at all (x). If I think you completed it but it's not on the server or there is some other irregularity, I put a question mark (?). In the video report column, an / usually means that you have only the .MSWMM project file on the server, not the .wmv video file.

The shaded gateway rows indicate whether you met the October 13 and November 22 deadlines with a compete or almost complete set of documents (y), a somewhat incomplete set (/), or a less than complete set or no documents (n).

Please note that timely submission of documents in the real world helps determine whether or not you continue to get a paycheck. Also, on the course page, I wrote: "If you don't do them on time (assignments and gateways), your grade will be lower than it would otherwise."

x - not done - 0

n - a valid file - 65

/ - needs work - 75

y - ok - 85

! - outstanding - 95

[ give rubric for each version: what will get a /, what will get a y, what will get a ! ]
